Zabaykalsky Krai Sees Fluctuations in Prices of Eggs, Catering, and Services

Egg prices in the Zabaykalsky Krai have decreased significantly due to increased poultry farm production, while catering costs have risen, and overall annual inflation remains near the national average.

In April 2025, prices in the Zabaykalsky Krai increased by 0.24% compared to March, with the annual inflation rate holding steady at 10.21%, closely mirroring the national rate of 10.23%.

The Bank of Russia’s regional branch reported that food prices experienced the most substantial increase, exceeding the overall inflation rate. Service prices rose moderately on a monthly basis but showed the largest increase year-over-year. Non-food product prices decreased in April but increased less over the year compared to food and services.

The price of eggs notably decreased by 6.75% in April because of greater output at poultry farms. On the other hand, catering establishments significantly increased their costs, influenced by factors like more expensive ice cream ingredients and a decline in the national fish catch volume.

Among non-food items, communication devices saw the most significant price decrease at 5.32%. In the service sector, foreign tourism became more affordable due to a stronger ruble and decreased demand, while cellular communication services became more expensive due to rising operational costs for providers.
