Two teenagers were hospitalized with moderate injuries after an e-scooter accident involving an SUV in St. Petersburg’s Krasnoselsky district. The incident occurred on Geroev Avenue when a 16-year-old, carrying his 15-year-old girlfriend on a rented e-scooter, collided with an Exeed LX at an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing.
The teenagers, both students, sustained head injuries and were transported to a children’s hospital for treatment. Medical professionals have assessed their condition as moderately severe.
The driver of the SUV was identified as a 36-year-old local resident. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, noting that the e-scooter riders were not following traffic regulations. Furthermore, it was reported that the driver has a history of speeding violations, accumulating multiple tickets this year.
