Yekaterinburg to Extend Five Bus Routes Based on Resident Requests

Yekaterinburg city administration is planning to extend five bus routes in response to requests from residents. The proposed changes aim to improve transport services and connectivity across different parts of the city.

Route No. 40 “Leroy Merlin Shopping Center – UrFU” is proposed to be extended to Vodoyemnaya Street (Uktus), an area currently without bus service.

To compensate for the change, Route No. 78 “Severny Khimmas – Leroy Merlin Shopping Center” is planned to be extended to the “Sinie Kamni” microdistrict. This extension will maintain existing transport links and create a new connection between Sinie Kamni and the southern part of Yekaterinburg. The section of Bazovy Lane that will no longer be served by bus No. 40 will now be served by route No. 78.

Route No. 73 “DMB No. 9 – Sovkhoznaya” is slated to be redirected to the “7 Klyuchey (Tagilsky Podkhod)” stop.

Residents have requested that Route No. 74 “Gromova – Traktovaya” be extended to the “STC MEGA” stop, with a stop at the “Gromova” stop in both directions.

Route No. 89 “Okrainnaya – UrFU” is also planned to be extended to the “Vishnevaya” stop, with a stop at the “UrFU” stop in both directions.

The city continues to discuss further changes to the route network to enhance convenience for citizens, focusing on routes serving remote areas and those that duplicate each other.
