A Yekaterinburg resident named Dmitry is in serious condition in intensive care after his car was destroyed in an accident involving a Lexus. His friend, Ekaterina, informed E1.RU that doctors are not providing a prognosis, but Dmitry is conscious.
Dmitry sustained a closed head injury in the crash that occurred on the evening of July 30th. According to Ekaterina, Dmitry has 15 years of driving experience with no prior accidents and is known as a careful driver. She also described him as a bright and supportive person.
The accident took place when the Lexus, driven by 35-year-old Bogdan Semkiv, allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of Khokhryakov Street and Sheinkman Street, colliding with Dmitry’s Rover. The impact was so severe that it tore the Rover apart.
Car expert Dmitry Larionov estimates that the Lexus was traveling at a speed of 95-105 kilometers per hour at the time of the accident. Semkiv was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the incident and has been released pending trial.
The Sverdlovsk State Traffic Inspectorate has stated that an administrative investigation is currently underway. A forensic medical examination will be conducted to determine the extent of the harm caused to the victim.
