Management companies in Yekaterinburg are distributing flyers urging residents to report information about tenants in their buildings. The initiative aims to gather data to prevent potential terrorist threats within the region.
The flyers specifically request residents to provide the full names and contact information of tenants, or any known details about rented properties, to their respective management organizations. This request extends to homeowners who lease out their properties, as well as neighbors who may be aware of rentals in their vicinity.
According to one of the city’s management companies, the collection of tenant information is being conducted on behalf of the State Housing Inspectorate to ensure the authorities have up-to-date information.
The call for information extends beyond residential properties. The mayor of Berezovsky, Evgeny Pistsov, recently appealed to residents to submit information about tenants of non-residential premises to the administration. Pistsov cited instructions from the regional head, Denis Pasler, and a decision by the anti-terrorism commission of the Sverdlovsk region as justification for the request, emphasizing that this information is crucial for maintaining security and protecting citizens.
These measures align with a broader national effort to combat hooliganism and terrorism, which includes obligating owners of apartments and vacant spaces to notify the police and management companies about tenants.
