Yekaterinburg is set to celebrate Russia Day on Thursday, June 12th, with a variety of events taking place throughout the city. Residents and visitors can look forward to concerts, free exhibitions, beauty contests, and other activities designed to mark the national holiday.
A highlight of the day will be a mass performance at 12:00 in the Historical Square, where a thousand-person choir will gather on the steps of the monument to Tatishchev and de Gennin. The performance is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.
Mayakovsky Park will host the free “Bloggers of Russia” festival, starting at 13:00. The festival will feature performances by popular influencers and artists, including Dilara, Anya Pokrov, Hype House, Andro, and Nancy & Sidorov.
The VEER Mall shopping center will host the “Ural Beauty – Long Braid” competition at 15:00. Judges will select the owners of the longest and thickest braids in three age categories from hundreds of participants.
The “Summer at the Factory” festival in Sysert will also open on Russia Day. For the first time, admission to the festival will be charged, with tickets costing 250 rubles.
In addition, eight museums in Yekaterinburg will offer free admission on Russia Day, providing an opportunity to explore the city’s cultural offerings.
