Yekaterinburg residents can expect near-normal or slightly below-normal temperatures in August, according to preliminary forecasts from the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia. This follows a cold and rainy July where the average monthly temperature was +17.9 degrees, one degree below the usual average.
The author of the Telegram channel “Weather in Yekaterinburg” notes that August marks a transition period between summer and autumn in the region. Meteorological autumn, defined as the average daily temperature dropping below +15 degrees, typically begins around August 24.
The first five days of August are predicted to be warm and dry. From August 5 to 10, there is a possibility of precipitation. The first ten days of the month are expected to bring relatively warm weather, with daytime temperatures reaching +22…+27 °С and nighttime temperatures around +10…+15 °С.
Throughout August, cyclonic activity is expected to dominate, with occasional breaks provided by anticyclones, similar to the pattern in the initial five days. This pattern suggests that extended periods of stable heat are unlikely. The average temperature for the month is projected to be near or slightly below the norm of +16.2 degrees.
The Gismeteo service forecasts a rainy August for Yekaterinburg. They predict clear weather only on August 1, 3, 4, 5, and 15, with variable cloudiness and frequent precipitation on other days. Temperatures in the first week of August are expected to reach +22…+24 °С during the day and +14…+16 °С at night. From August 8 until the end of the month, the daytime temperature is expected to be around +18…+20 °С, with nighttime temperatures of +12…+14 °С.
Accuweather offers a slightly more optimistic outlook, forecasting rain only from August 9 to 14. However, they also anticipate that temperatures will remain moderate, with daytime temperatures reaching up to +25 °C in the first five days, followed by temperatures around +17…+19 °C. The coldest day in their forecast is August 22, with a daytime temperature of only +14 °C.
