A woman from the Novovarshavsky district of the Omsk region is facing multiple criminal charges after allegedly torturing her young daughter. The charges include torturing a minor, failure to fulfill parental responsibilities, and making death threats, according to the regional prosecutor’s office.

The investigation revealed that the abuse allegedly occurred over several days, from February 19 to 24. The woman is accused of beating her daughter on the body, head, and arms, as well as threatening to kill her.

The girl has been removed from her mother’s care, and the woman’s parental rights have been restricted. The criminal case has been sent to court for adjudication.

Authorities had previously removed three other children from the woman’s care, and she was already registered as a dysfunctional parent. Following these revelations, the prosecutor’s office has initiated a review of the local juvenile affairs authorities’ actions. A submission has been made to the head of the department following the inspection.
