A woman has died, and a 13-year-old teenager is in serious condition following an apartment fire in Novosibirsk. The incident occurred on Adrien Lezhena Street in the Dzerzhinsky district.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at approximately 05:00 local time, to a building located at 13 Adrien Lezhena Street. The fire broke out in an apartment on the fourth floor.

During the incident 30 people evacuated on their own. Firefighters rescued a woman and a 13-year-old teenager from the burning apartment via a ladder truck through the balcony. The woman’s body was found in the back room of the apartment, while the teenager was hospitalized with serious injuries.

A man with burns on his back managed to escape the apartment independently, but he declined hospitalization.

The fire was extinguished in under 30 minutes by 23 personnel and 7 units of equipment. The open burning affected an area of 16 square meters.
