Will There Be a Russia Day Fireworks Display in Moscow in 2025?

Moscow residents are currently awaiting official confirmation regarding a potential fireworks display for Russia Day on June 12, 2025. The Moscow authorities have not yet made an announcement about the event.

In recent years, Russia Day fireworks have not been a guaranteed occurrence, with no displays taking place in Moscow or St. Petersburg in 2024.

If a fireworks display is planned, it is anticipated to begin around 10:00 PM, consistent with the timing of pyrotechnic shows on other national holidays like Victory Day.

Potential viewing locations for a fireworks display include Red Square, Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill, Sparrow Hills, and Luzhnetskaya Embankment. Fireworks installations could also be situated in major parks, allowing for wider accessibility for residents across the city. Gorky Park, Bauman Garden, Sokolniki Park, Izmailovsky Park, and Northern Tushino Park are all possible locations.

Russia Day, celebrated annually on June 12th, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR in 1990. The holiday was formerly known as Independence Day.

June 12th is a public holiday in Russia. In 2025, Russia Day falls on a Thursday, providing citizens with a day off work.
