Denis Yakimov, a 34-year-old welder, has been remanded in custody for two months following a court hearing in Novosibirsk. He is accused of murdering a security guard at a factory and committing robbery.

The Kalininsky District Court of Novosibirsk made the decision to detain Yakimov. Yakimov pleaded guilty during the hearing and expressed remorse for his actions to reporters.

According to the investigation, the crime occurred between the night of June 1st and 2nd. Yakimov and a 44-year-old acquaintance allegedly entered the premises of a commercial organization on Aviastroiteley Street. The suspects intended to steal construction tools from the location.

Preliminary information suggests that Yakimov, who worked as a welder at the factory named “Perspektiva”, planned the theft. He believed the security guard would be intoxicated and unaware of the missing items. His accomplice has prior convictions.

Yakimov is originally from Buryatia and moved to Novosibirsk approximately three years ago.

Yakimov’s mother, who resides in Buryatia, was informed of her son’s arrest by his fiancée, but she lacked specific details.
