Novosibirsk is bracing for severe weather as thunderstorms and strong winds are forecast for June 15. Residents received an SMS alert from the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations warning of the impending conditions.

The alert specifically mentions the possibility of hail and wind gusts reaching up to 20 meters per second in some areas of the Novosibirsk region.

According to the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Center, Novosibirsk will experience variable cloudiness. While the night is expected to be mostly dry, the day will bring short-term, and in some locations, heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms.

Temperatures are expected to range from +18… +20 degrees Celsius at night to +28… +30 degrees Celsius during the day. The wind is expected to intensify, reaching speeds of up to 20 meters per second.
