Weather Forecast for the Long Weekend in Russia

Russians planning trips for the long weekend from June 12th to 15th should be aware of varying weather conditions across the country.

Central Russia is expected to experience a turn for the worse with prolonged rains and winds replacing the recent heat. A large cyclone will bring cooler air from the north and northeast, with temperatures around +21…+23 degrees Celsius on June 12th and 13th. The second half of the weekend will see even cooler temperatures, dropping to +15…+18 degrees Celsius in Moscow, the Moscow region, and neighboring areas, accompanied by extended rains and northerly winds.

The Urals will also see a shift from hot to cooler weather, with temperatures falling to +21…+26 degrees Celsius and short-term rains expected.

In contrast, Siberia will maintain summer weather, with temperatures around +25…+30 degrees Celsius and a possibility of short-term rains in the south and west.

The southern regions will experience a slight cooling trend. The heat wave that brought temperatures of +36…+38 degrees Celsius is ending, with temperatures expected to drop to +30…+32 degrees Celsius, except for the Astrakhan region, where high temperatures will persist before gradually decreasing. Rain, thunderstorms, and hail are expected in the Astrakhan region by the weekend, with temperatures dropping to +25…+28 degrees Celsius. Crimea, Kuban, Stavropol, the Volgograd region, and the republics of the North Caucasus will have comfortable weather without precipitation, with temperatures around +25…+28 degrees Celsius.

The Far East will experience low atmospheric pressure from June 11th to 13th. Yakutia, Primorye, the Kuriles, and Kamchatka will have rains, some heavy, with thunderstorms and wind gusts of up to 13–18 m/s. Temperatures will exceed the climatic norm by +6…+7 degrees in Yakutia, by 5–9 degrees in the Magadan region and the Khabarovsk Territory, and by 7 degrees in the Sakhalin region. Sakhalin will see temperatures rise to +22…+25 degrees Celsius, while Yakutia and the Khabarovsk Territory will reach +29…+31 degrees Celsius.
