Vladimir Baranov, a traumatologist-orthopedist and head of the department at City Clinical Hospital No. 34, has been named “Doctor of the Year 2025” in Novosibirsk. The Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk Region announced the results of the competition.

Baranov’s department has become a leading surgery center in the Siberian Federal District under his leadership. In 2024, the department performed 2824 operations for residents of the city, region, and other regions. He has also implemented advanced surgical methods for treating hand injuries and diseases.

Since 2023, Baranov has been an assistant at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Novosibirsk State Medical University, where he trains future specialists. He completed his residency at the university in 2013 and began his career at Polyclinic No. 26 before moving to City Clinical Hospital No. 34.

Other winners in the “Doctor of the Year 2025” competition include:

• Nadezhda Kolchenko, a general practitioner at Novosibirsk Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1, won the Audience Award.
• Alexander Popov, an endoscopist at the State Novosibirsk Regional Clinical Hospital, won in the “Loyalty to the Profession” nomination.
• Vladimir Novoselov, head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at Novosibirsk State Medical University, received the special prize “To Our Teacher.”

The winners in the “Youth. Innovation. Talent” nomination were:

• 1st place – Anastasia Tolmacheva, head of the department, doctor of physical and rehabilitation medicine at the Veterans Affairs Hospital No. 3.
• 2nd place – Ivan Notov, urologist at the Clinical Hospital RZD-Medicine.
• 3rd place – Vyacheslav Lapin, anesthesiologist-resuscitator at the State Novosibirsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
