An Uzbek citizen has been sentenced to five years of restricted freedom for participating in mercenary activities. The 25-year-old was found guilty after returning to Uzbekistan in October 2024.

The individual had traveled to the Samara region of Russia in the summer of 2021 for work. In November 2022, he entered into a contract with the Wagner PMC.

Following the contract, the man participated in hostilities within the Special Military Operation zone. Evidence of his involvement was discovered on his mobile phone.
