Starting July 1st, utility prices in Russia will increase by an average of approximately 11.9%. This forecast comes from Natalia Churkina, an expert at the Institute for Strategic Studies.
The increase in tariffs will vary across different regions of Russia. Some regions will see increases around 8.6%, while others may experience increases as high as 21.1%. In the majority of regions, the price hike is expected to surpass 10%.
There are exceptions to this trend. Regions such as the Altai Republic, the Chechen Republic, the Amur Region, and certain northern regions will not see such a dramatic increase.
The Ministry of Economic Development’s updated April forecast indicates a significant rise in housing and communal services tariffs for 2026-2027 compared to previous estimates. The projected growth for 2026 has been adjusted from approximately 5.4% to around 9.8%. Similarly, the forecast for 2027 has been increased from 4.8% to about 7.9%.
Natalia Churkina concludes that the financial burden on residents is expected to continue growing in the coming years, albeit at a slightly slower but still noticeable pace.
