Ukrainian drone attacks struck residential areas and other targets in the Kursk region of Russia, causing damage, injuries, and fires. The attacks occurred in the Rylsky and Lgovsky districts, according to regional authorities.
In Rylsk, drones hit two five-story apartment buildings, igniting fires in multiple apartments. One fire started on the first floor and spread to nearby balconies. Another drone struck the third floor of a separate building, also causing a fire. Windows were shattered, and facades were damaged across several buildings. Residents were evacuated, but most chose to stay with relatives. Seven people were injured in Rylsk, including a family of four with two teenagers, all of whom were hospitalized. Two women and one man also sustained shrapnel wounds and were treated for shock.
In the village of Artakovo, Lgovsky district, a drone attack caused fires in two buildings and a garage. A family of three was inside one of the buildings and independently sought medical attention. Firefighters are working to extinguish the blazes.
Emergency services are on-site in both districts, and authorities are assessing the full extent of the damage. A house-to-house inspection is scheduled to begin to assess the damage to window blocks. Information regarding the consequences of the attacks is still being gathered.
