UBTech Robotics, a technology firm based in Shenzhen, has introduced the Walker S2, the world’s first humanoid robot capable of autonomously changing its own batteries. This innovation, highlighted in a recent video released by the company, enables the robot to potentially operate continuously for 24 hours a day.
The video demonstrates the Walker S2 approaching a charging station and executing the battery replacement process without human intervention. The robot skillfully removes a depleted battery from its back and replaces it with a fully charged one, showcasing its advanced capabilities.
This announcement follows reports of robotic advancements in other sectors. Recently, a robot diagnostician was deployed in St. Petersburg to inspect pipelines. The robot successfully scanned a 70-meter stretch of pipe at the Severomurinskaya boiler house, identifying approximately half of the pipeline as requiring replacement.
