Two young girls, ages 11 and 12, died when concrete floor slabs collapsed at a former slaughterhouse in the village of Terpilitsy, Volosovsky District. The tragic incident occurred on May 31, as confirmed by the Leningrad Region Prosecutor’s Office.
Emergency services and law enforcement agencies were promptly dispatched to the scene following the collapse.
Alexander Alexandrov, the prosecutor of the Volosovsky district, is personally overseeing the investigation at the site.
Authorities are currently working to determine how the children gained access to the abandoned property.
The supervisory authority will conduct a thorough investigation into all circumstances surrounding the incident.
