Two Drones Intercepted En Route to Moscow

Two drones were shot down by air defense systems while approaching Moscow, according to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The incident occurred amid a night of widespread drone activity, with reports of attacks and airport closures in several regions.

During the same night, airports in Kaluga, Tambov, and Nizhny Novgorod temporarily suspended operations due to the heightened drone threat. Subsequently, all four Moscow airports – Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo – experienced brief operational restrictions before resuming normal service.

Earlier in the evening, the Ministry of Defense reported that 51 drones were shot down over the Belgorod region within a three-and-a-half-hour period, between 8:00 PM and 11:30 PM Moscow time.

In the Shebekinsky district, a woman sustained injuries from a drone attack, as reported by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. The incident involved a drone explosion on private property, resulting in barotrauma for the injured woman.

Authorities advise citizens to immediately contact 112 if a drone is spotted. When reporting, provide your name and address, a description of the drone (whether it is hovering or flying, its silhouette, and flashing lights), and the sound it makes. It is crucial to leave the area and warn others. If a drone is found on the ground, do not approach or touch it, and report the finding to 112.
