Universities in Novosibirsk are raising tuition fees for the 2025 academic year, impacting a wide range of programs across various institutions. The Novosibirsk State Medical University (NSMU) shows the most significant increases, while other universities such as Novosibirsk State University (NSU), Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU), Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University (NSPU), Siberian Transport University (SGUPS), Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEM), and Novosibirsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Sibstrin) have also announced higher fees.
At NSMU, Dentistry now costs 449,460 rubles per year, marking a substantial increase of 74,160 rubles. “General Medicine” has risen to 402,460 rubles annually, an increase of 52,500 rubles, and “Pediatrics” has reached 338,800 rubles per year, up by 26,800 rubles.
NSUEM has increased the cost of its joint “Law” program with MGIMO to 450,000 rubles, which is 60,000 rubles more than the previous year. The regular “Law” program now costs 189,000 rubles per year, nearly 50,000 rubles higher than last year’s 139,300 rubles. “Applied Informatics” and “Ecology and Nature Management” are priced at 189,000 and 176,000 rubles respectively, up from 156,000 rubles last year.
At NSTU, Cinematography tuition is now 308,200 rubles per year, a 33,000 ruble increase. Technical programs in the Faculty of Aircraft, including “Aircraft Engineering,” “Technical Operation of Aircraft and Engines,” and “Ballistics and Hydroaerodynamics,” now cost 220,000 rubles annually, an increase of almost 10,000 rubles. “Nanoengineering” and “Nanotechnology” are priced at 220,000 and 210,000 rubles respectively, reflecting increases of 10,000-20,000 rubles.
NSU’s “Management” program is now the most expensive, priced at 250,000 rubles per year (120,000 rubles per semester), a 10,000 ruble increase. “General Medicine” also costs 250,000 rubles per year, up 18,000 rubles, while Psychology is priced at 250,000 rubles per year, an increase of 20,000 rubles.
NSPU has raised tuition for creative specialties, with “Design” and “Decorative and Applied Arts” now costing 308,200 rubles per year, an increase of 20,300 rubles. More scientific fields such as “Chemistry” and “Biology” cost 174,700 rubles annually, a 10,700 ruble increase.
Sibstrin’s most expensive program, “Design,” now costs 308,172 rubles per year, significantly more than last year’s 276,492 rubles. Programs like “Architecture,” “Construction,” and “Urban Planning” cost 174,612 rubles per year, slightly more than last year’s 163,968 rubles.
SGUPS has also increased tuition, with “Industrial and Civil Construction,” “Highways, Airfields, and Transport Infrastructure Facilities,” and “Water Supply and Sanitation” now costing 175,000 rubles per year, an increase of 8,500 rubles. “World Economy,” “Finance and Credit,” and “Customs” now cost 167,500 rubles annually (83,750 per semester), a 22,000 ruble increase.
