A truck destroyed a tram stop in Uralmash, Ekaterinburg, on Monday, June 17th, resulting in minor injuries to a man and a 7-year-old child. The incident occurred at the intersection of Bakinskikh Komissarov and Kirovgradskaya streets when a KAMAZ truck with a manipulator struck the bus shelter while making a turn.
The unsecured lifting boom of the truck hit the structure, tearing it from its mountings, skewing it, and shattering all the glass.
According to the Ekaterinburg Traffic Police, the man and child inside the stop received minor injuries from the falling glass. After being examined by medical personnel, they were released to go home.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. This event follows a prior tragedy in Uralmash in the winter of 2023, where a car crash at a tram stop on Mashinostroiteley Street resulted in two fatalities and a prison sentence for the driver.
