Two men are on trial in the Novosibirsk region for allegedly robbing a car owner of his vehicle and demanding 500,000 rubles. The Barabinsk District Court is overseeing the case.

The suspects allegedly met the victim in Barabinsk, posing as potential car buyers. They then requested a test drive, driving to a secluded location where they demanded the car and money.

The victim was allegedly physically assaulted and threatened with an object resembling a traumatic pistol when he attempted to leave the vehicle. He was shot in the chest.

While being driven out of Barabinsk, the victim, fearing for his life, jumped from the moving car. The accused then fled in the stolen vehicle with the owner’s belongings.

The total damages to the victim are estimated to be over 957,000 rubles. The defendants are charged with robbery committed on a particularly large scale, under paragraph “b” of Part 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The suspects were apprehended in the Novosibirsk region in late May and have been taken into custody.
