Transformer Garden on Moskovskaya Square Set to Open Soon

The transformer garden on Moskovskaya Square is expected to open as early as Wednesday, June 11th. The area has been decorated for the summer season with a diverse array of flowers, cereals, and shrubs.

More than thirty varieties of flowers, including sunflowers, marigolds, cornflowers, nasturtiums, chrysanthemums, violas, ornamental cabbage, snapdragons, and lavender, have been planted. The landscaping also incorporates cereals and shrubs like quince, park roses, rhododendrons, and Japanese spirea. Many of these plants are situated on embankments constructed from geoplastics.

In addition to the floral arrangements, the square features over seventy planters containing linden trees. Modular benches and stylish lamps have been installed to enhance the space.

The landscaping project was secured through two tenders in May, totaling 60 million rubles. PSF Kort is the contractor responsible for the execution of the work.

Plans to create a transformer garden on Moskovskaya Square were previously canceled in 2024 due to repairs on the Lenin monument. The temporary garden on Isaakievskaya Square, an annual tradition, officially opened on City Day, May 27. The opening of a transformer garden on Yakornaya Square in Kronstadt has been scheduled for Russia Day.
