The XII Trans-Baikal International Film Festival in Chita will offer master classes and practical sessions for aspiring screenwriters, directors, and cinematographers from June 5 to 8. Organizers announced the program, which will delve into key aspects of filmmaking.

The festival will take place at the “Technopark of the Trans-Baikal Territory” located at Balyabina, 44. Pre-registration is required for all interested individuals.

The program will cover priority topics, including the dramatic foundations of films, the structure of film production stages, and the creation of both short and feature-length films. Participants will have the opportunity to analyze their own film work with professionals, receiving feedback and developing strategies for project promotion.

A creative film laboratory, led by Lidia Filippova, will also be held during the festival, featuring lectures, practical exercises, and the shooting of a short documentary art sketch about Chita. Participant selection for this lab is already complete.

A range of master classes are scheduled:

• June 5, 14:00–15:00: “Ways to integrate neural networks in film production and post-production” with film critic Vasilina Sviridova.

• June 5, 16:00–17:00: “Visual storytelling and storyboards” with director Oleg Shtrom.

• June 6, 15:00–16:00: “Director’s work with the actor. Methods, principles and psychological foundations of directing aimed at unlocking the actor’s potential” with actress Alexandra Ozeretskaya.

• June 6, 16:00–18:15: “Public-talk with the director of the popular youth series “The Poor Laugh, the Rich Cry”” with director Natalia Vagonova and actress Ksenia Grigorieva.

• June 6, 17:00–19:00: “Director’s analysis of the film “9 Seconds”” with director Oleg Shtrom.

• June 7, 15:00–16:00: “Production designer. From explication to decoration” with director Gleb Kuchinsky.

• June 7, 17:00–18:00: “Technical techniques of modern cinematography for conveying directorial accents in emotions and mood” with Vladimir Koshelev.

• June 8, 14:00–15:00: “Music in cinema: production, tools, quality result” with composer Andrzej Petras.

• June 8, 15:30–16:30: “Sound engineer. Work on set and in editing” with director Gleb Kuchinsky.
