Tram Traffic Restored on Moscow’s Boulevard Ring

Tram services have resumed along Moscow’s Boulevard Ring as of today, June 2nd, according to the Department of Transport.

Trams A, 3, and 39 are once again operating along the Boulevard Ring to Bolshoy Kharitonyevsky Lane. Bus route 913 has also returned to its original path, running from the 3rd Paveletsky proezd to Paveletsky railway station.

While tram service has resumed, the Chistye Prudy metro station stop remains temporarily closed due to ongoing landscaping work at Turgenevskaya Square. Authorities estimate the walking distance from the temporary stop to the metro station will be a short two-minute walk.

The service disruption was caused by the construction of a new tram line to Sakharov Avenue, which began at Chistye Prudy. This project involved installing metal fences, removing asphalt, and dismantling rails near the metro station’s first exit.

The new tram line will connect Komsomolskaya Square with Chistye Prudy via Academician Sakharov Avenue. The project is slated for completion later this year.

Previously, authorities announced that over one billion rubles would be invested in tram track repairs in Moscow. Plans are also in place to install Viennese platform tram stops on 12 central Moscow streets, and the city will purchase 100 new single-section trams.
