Train traffic has been suspended on the Kotelnikovo – Kanalnaya section in the Volgograd region after UAV debris fell on railway infrastructure on July 31.
Russian Railways reported that there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
The incident has led to delays for at least three passenger trains: No. 532 Adler – Kirov, No. 531 Kirov – Adler, and suburban train No. 6212 Kotelnikovo – Volgograd-1.
Emergency services are currently at the scene addressing the situation. Sappers are also working to clear the area.
The Ministry of Defense reported that 11 drones were destroyed over the Volgograd region overnight.
Local authorities indicated that transport and energy infrastructure were targeted in the attacks.
A fire broke out in dry grass in some areas, and gas supply to dozens of houses in the Kotelnikovsky district was disrupted.
Authorities have stated that no damage to the rails has been recorded despite the UAV debris falling on the railway tracks.
