The Bryansk region incident occurred when a road bridge collapsed onto a Klimov-Moscow passenger train on the night of June 1. The governor of the region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that the bridge near the Vygonichi station had been blown up.

Previously, reports indicated 110 victims as a result of the bridge collapse. As of Wednesday morning, 53 victims remained hospitalized, with six patients, including a child, in serious condition.

On the same night as the Bryansk incident, a bridge also collapsed in the Kursk region while a freight train was crossing it.
