An 83-year-old woman has died in the hospital from injuries sustained during shelling in Rylsk yesterday, bringing the total death toll to two. The acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Khinshtein, announced the news on the morning of June 6th, stating that the woman’s family would receive assistance.
The woman was one of several injured when enemy forces struck residential areas in Rylsk on the afternoon of June 5th, targeting both apartment buildings and private homes. Doctors were unable to save her due to the severity of her injuries, according to Khinshtein.
The initial attack resulted in the death of a 32-year-old woman, who was a mother of three young children. In addition to the fatalities, six other people were injured in the shelling. The injured included five women, one of whom was the 83-year-old who later died, and one man.
