St. Petersburg has implemented initial traffic restrictions starting June 5 due to preparations for the annual “Scarlet Sails” graduation celebration. These measures impact several key areas in the city center.
The first changes include the installation of temporary fences on Birzhevaya Square, limiting access to the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. Stopping is entirely prohibited in this zone from June 5 to July 5. Banners indicating preparation work for the “Scarlet Sails” are displayed on the fences.
Additional restrictions are scheduled for other locations. From June 9 to 11 and again from June 28 to 29, stopping will be forbidden on Universitetskaya Embankment near buildings 1–3. Furthermore, stopping will be restricted near house number 3 on the same embankment from June 10 to 18.
On June 11, stopping will also be prohibited on Michurinskaya Street at house number 1 and on Petrovskaya Embankment opposite houses 6–8.
The “Scarlet Sails” celebration, a major event for St. Petersburg graduates, is scheduled for June 28 this year.
