Vehicle access to several cemeteries in Novosibirsk will be restricted on June 7th and 8th from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The announcement was made by the Department of Investment, Consumer Market, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship of the Novosibirsk Mayor’s Office.
The restrictions will affect the Zayeltsovskoye, Gusinobrodskoye, and Kleshchikhinskoye cemeteries. The limitations are put in place in connection with the upcoming Holy Trinity holiday and Trinity Parent Saturday.
Exceptions to the vehicle ban will be granted to ritual service vehicles and municipal utility vehicles.
To ensure public order and safety, police officers will be stationed at all public cemeteries throughout Novosibirsk during this period.
Trinity is celebrated on the fiftieth day after Easter, commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit. Trinity Parent Saturday precedes the holiday, a day when families traditionally visit and maintain the graves of their relatives. The church also encourages tidying up at unmarked burial sites on this day.
