St. Petersburg’s Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD) will experience traffic disruptions from June 2nd to June 8th due to upgrades to its traffic management systems. The “Magistral of the Northern Capital” press service announced the planned closures.
Several sections of the WHSD will be temporarily closed during the night for the system upgrades.
Specifically, from 11:00 PM on June 2nd to 6:00 AM on June 3rd, and again from 11:00 PM on June 3rd to 6:00 AM on June 4th, the main course of the WHSD in the northbound direction will be closed from the toll booth near Blagodatnaya Street to the exit to the Vitebsk Interchange (ShMSD). Motorists will need to use detours via the exit to Blagodatnaya Street.
Additionally, exits to the Vitebsk Interchange from the WHSD when traveling from north to south and towards Vitebsky Prospekt will be inaccessible from 11:00 PM on June 2nd to 6:00 AM on June 3rd.
The exit from the WHSD to the Vitebsk Interchange towards Vitebsky Prospekt will be closed from 11:00 PM on June 3rd to 6:00 AM on June 4th.
From 11:00 PM on June 4th to 6:00 AM on June 5th, the exits from the WHSD to the Vitebsk Interchange towards Vitebsky Prospekt, and from the Vitebsk Interchange to the WHSD towards the north of the city will be blocked.
The exit from the Vitebsk Interchange to the WHSD towards the south will be closed from 11:00 PM on June 5th to 6:00 AM on June 6th, and again from June 7th to June 8th.
Finally, from 11:00 PM on June 8th to 6:00 AM on June 9th, both the exit from the Vitebsk Interchange to the WHSD towards the north and the exit from the WHSD to the Vitebsk Interchange when traveling from north to south will be closed.
Drivers are urged to consider these traffic restrictions when planning their routes and are reminded to follow temporary road signs and information boards. Motorists should also adhere to speed limits and maintain a safe following distance.
