Traffic Jams in St. Petersburg Reach 8 Points During Evening Rush Hour

St. Petersburg experienced significant traffic congestion on June 6th, reaching 8 points during the evening rush hour, surpassing the typical level by 1 point. The northern part of the city is experiencing the most severe delays, while the southern area is surprisingly clear.

Specifically, the Ring Road (KAD) is heavily congested with multi-kilometer traffic jams between Engels Avenue and Devyatkino. The inner ring road is experiencing an almost 8-kilometer-long traffic jam stretching from before the interchange with Engels Avenue to the Murino area due to a multi-vehicle accident that has reduced traffic to a single lane.

The outer ring road mirrors this situation, with a similarly extensive traffic jam from before the exit to Novo Devyatkino to the exit to the Novo Priozerskoye Highway. Novo Priozerskoye Highway and Engels Avenue are also experiencing congestion heading out of the city, with an 8-kilometer traffic jam beginning near the Prospekt Prosvescheniya metro station.

Vyborgskoye Highway is also experiencing heavy congestion outbound from St. Petersburg, from Prospekt Prosvescheniya to Osinovaya Roscha. The usual traffic congestion in Novo Devyatkino persists in both directions, toward the region and toward St. Petersburg.

In contrast, the southern part of St. Petersburg is relatively free of traffic jams heading out of the city. Moskovskoye and Pulkovskoye Highways are mostly clear, with only minor slowdowns near the Ring Road and the intersection with the Lensovetovskaya road. The southern section of the Ring Road is also clear, except for congestion between the cable-stayed bridge and the Murmanskoye Highway.
