A significant traffic jam has formed on Moskovskaya Street this morning, August 1st, due to roadworks. The congestion stems from the complete closure of the intersection at Moskovskaya and Radishcheva streets.
The closure forces drivers to seek alternative routes, leading to increased traffic on surrounding streets such as Radishcheva and Gurzufskaya. These streets are also experiencing congestion as a result.
The intersection closure is necessary for tram track repairs, which are scheduled to continue until August 16th. During this period, tram routes will also be altered to accommodate the construction.
Motorists heading towards the city center are advised to detour via Radishcheva, Sheinkman, and Malysheva streets. Those traveling away from the city center can use Radishcheva and Gurzufskaya streets as alternative routes.
Authorities previously issued warnings about the road closures on Moskovskaya Street and the recommended detour routes. To manage traffic flow, all lane signs leading up to the closed intersection have been covered.
Adding to the traffic woes, Malysheva Street is also experiencing congestion due to a tram breakdown at an intersection.
In addition to the Moskovskaya Street closure, a section of Mamina-Sibiryaka Street is scheduled to be closed from August 1st until the end of the summer. Further road closures are also anticipated in the Uralmash and Elmash districts.
