A high-speed collision involving a Lexus and multiple other vehicles occurred in Yekaterinburg on July 30th, resulting in significant damage and injuries. The incident took place at the intersection of Malysheva and Sakko and Vantsetti streets.
The Lexus driver, allegedly under the influence of drugs, ran a red light and collided with a Rover, tearing it in two. The force of the impact propelled the Rover into a Toyota, Kia, and Range Rover.
The driver of the Rover, identified as 31-year-old Dmitry, sustained serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury and a kidney contusion, and is currently in intensive care.
An auto expert, Dmitry Larionov, estimated that the Lexus was traveling at approximately 95-105 km/h prior to the collision. Larionov also explained that the Rover was likely a “cut-and-weld” vehicle, meaning it was assembled from multiple cars or cut and re-welded to avoid customs, making it structurally weaker and prone to breaking apart along the weld lines in an accident.
