A 35-year-old tractor driver in the Moscow region is facing criminal charges after allegedly running over and killing a 13-year-old boy and then disposing of his body in a river. The incident occurred on May 28 near the village of Nizhnevo, according to the Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office.

The tractor driver was working in a field when he reportedly enlisted the teenager’s help. At some point, the driver failed to notice the boy and ran him over with the tractor.

The teenager was pulled into the cultivator’s moving mechanism and died at the scene from his injuries. The tractor driver, in a state of panic, did not contact the police or emergency medical services.

Instead, he removed the boy’s body and threw it into a nearby river. A local resident discovered the body while fishing a few days later.

The tractor driver has been detained and interrogated by authorities. He has reportedly confessed to the crime, detailing the events that led to the boy’s death and the subsequent disposal of the body.

A criminal case has been initiated against the tractor driver under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertains to causing death by negligence. The maximum penalty for this crime is two years of imprisonment.

The Moscow regional court is expected to determine a measure of restraint for the tractor driver in the near future.
