Ticket prices for flights from Moscow to Gelendzhik have significantly increased, with prices tripling after the first flight since February 2022. Aeroflot operated the inaugural flight to the Black Sea resort city.
The surge in demand has led to a substantial increase in airfare. Round-trip tickets initially priced at approximately 17,800 rubles on July 9, when sales commenced, soared to 50,000 rubles by July 17.
According to the airline’s website, one-way tickets to Gelendzhik this week are priced between 42,000 and 50,000 rubles. However, travelers may find cheaper options, around 16,000 rubles, for flights closer to the end of July and the beginning of August. For comparison, a flight from Moscow to Antalya costs roughly 19,000 to 22,000 rubles with the flagship Turkish carrier.
Aeroflot has responded to the increased demand by introducing three daily flights between Moscow and Gelendzhik from August 8 to October 12. The airline will operate daily flights in July, then transition to two flights per day from August 1, before increasing to three daily flights between August 8 and October 12, and then reducing back to two flights per day from October 13 to October 25.
Until the end of July, Aeroflot will utilize larger Airbus A321 aircraft for the Moscow-Gelendzhik route, which include 16 business class seats and 167 economy class seats.
It’s important to note that concerns regarding beach safety in the region have been raised due to an oil spill in the Kerch Strait area in December 2024. While some beach areas in Anapa and the Temryuk district were deemed unsafe by Rospotrebnadzor, the resorts of Gelendzhik are considered safe for swimming.
