The Novosibirsk region is experiencing a surge in tick bites, with over 7,200 cases reported since the start of the epidemic season, including over 2,100 cases involving children. The regional Rospotrebnadzor reports that 1,813 people sought medical assistance in the past week alone.

The highest number of tick bite incidents are concentrated in five specific districts: Novosibirsk, Novosibirsk, Iskitim, Toguchin, and Moshkovsky. These areas are identified as hotspots for tick activity, requiring heightened awareness and preventative measures from residents.

While the majority of cases involve common tick bites, isolated instances of more serious tick-borne diseases, such as tick-borne encephalitis and tick-borne borreliosis (Lyme disease), have also been registered. This underscores the importance of seeking prompt medical attention after a tick bite.
