Three employees of the Vsevolozhsky District Department of Supervisory Activities and Preventive Work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Leningrad Region have been charged with accepting bribes. The Investigative Committee announced the charges on June 6.
The individuals implicated include the department head, his deputy, and an inspector. They are accused of accepting over 1.27 million rubles in bribes from business owners between January 2020 and June 5, 2025.
In exchange for the bribes, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees allegedly ensured the absence of inspections and overlooked potential violations.
Currently, all suspects are in custody. Authorities have conducted searches of their homes. The court will determine the appropriate preventive measures for the accused.
The Investigative Department for the Central District of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg is handling the criminal case. The case involves three counts of receiving a bribe committed by a group of persons, as outlined in Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
