A 14-year-old girl, Vika, who was kidnapped from her home in Yekaterinburg, has been returned to her parents. The girl’s father, Eduard, reported that she is undergoing medical examinations.

The most important finding is that medical professionals found no evidence of violence or sexual contact between Vika and her captor. The 24-year-old migrant, Begzod, who kidnapped her is currently in custody.

Vika went missing on June 8th, prompting her parents to contact the police and volunteers after she failed to return home and stopped answering her phone. Her location was eventually traced to the Chelyabinsk region.

The investigation revealed that Begzod, who lived near the family in Yekaterinburg and worked as a machine operator, had taken her to the region. Vika told her parents that they lived in a rented apartment, where she cooked for both of them.

According to Eduard, Vika is “lost” and “not herself,” possibly due to shock, and she does not explain the reason for her leaving home. He stated she claimed that such an incident would not happen again.

Authorities have initiated a criminal investigation into the kidnapping.
