A taxi accident in St. Petersburg’s Petrogradsky district has left two people injured, one critically. The incident occurred early this morning on Petrovsky Prospekt, prompting an investigation by authorities.
The accident took place at 7:00 AM at 24 Petrovsky Prospekt. A taxi, identified as an Omoda, struck a 48-year-old man who was standing beside a parked Hyundai Solaris.
The pedestrian sustained extremely serious injuries and was reported to be in a state of clinical death following the collision. He was immediately transported to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
The driver of the Omoda taxi, born in 1985, also sustained injuries and was hospitalized. His condition is described as being of moderate severity.
Following the initial impact with the pedestrian and the Hyundai Solaris, the Omoda taxi veered off course, colliding with a parked BMW before overturning.
Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region is handling the inquiry.
