Russians will be able to apply for tax deductions for studies both in Russia and abroad via the Gosuslugi portal by the end of September. The announcement was made by the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev.

Alongside the application feature, a tax deduction calculator will also be available on the platform within the same timeframe. This tool aims to simplify the process of estimating potential deductions.

The Ministry is exploring options to broaden the scope of online applications related to tax deductions. This initiative seeks to enhance the convenience and accessibility of tax-related services for citizens.

Currently, individuals can apply for education tax deductions through the Federal Tax Service website’s taxpayer personal account or at any “My Documents” center of Gosuslugi. The upcoming updates on Gosuslugi promise to streamline and centralize this process further.

In related news, the Ministry of Digital Development is considering a feature that allows users to designate a trusted individual to confirm password changes on the portal, provided the designee also possesses a Gosuslugi account.
