Major repairs at 183 Obvodny Canal have been temporarily halted following a fire in the building. The Capital Repair Fund’s press service confirmed the suspension, which affects the project that began in April.
The contracting organization asserts it adhered to all fire safety regulations. Preliminary reports suggest the fire originated in one of the apartments.
Work will remain suspended pending an investigation by the relevant authorities. The contractor is tasked with assessing the scaffolding, brickwork, and fire damage before repairs can recommence.
The initial contract stipulated completion by mid-October. Facade work on the courtyard side was nearing completion before the incident.
The Capital Repair Fund has pledged to expedite the process and aims to finalize the repairs before the year’s end.
