Two men have been arrested in Novosibirsk for the murder of a security guard and the theft of tools and vehicles from a factory. The suspects, aged 34 and 44, broke into the commercial organization located on Aviastroiteley Street between the night of June 1st and 2nd, according to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Novosibirsk Region.
The Investigative Committee reports that one of the suspects was an employee of the factory, working as a welder. He allegedly planned the theft of construction tools and enlisted the help of an acquaintance with a prior criminal record. They believed the security guard would be intoxicated and unaware of their actions.
However, the security guard noticed one of the suspects upon entering the property. The suspect then attacked the guard with a sharp object, inflicting fatal injuries.
The suspects proceeded to steal screwdrivers, electric hammer drills, welding machines, and other tools valued at approximately 1 million rubles. They also stole a “Gazelle” belonging to the organization and a “Kia” owned by the deceased security guard.
Detectives from the criminal investigation department, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Novosibirsk and Police Department No. 4 “Kalininsky” jointly conducted operational-search measures leading to the suspects’ detention.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 105 (murder) and Part 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery).
