A 27-year-old paramedic from the Gatchina Clinical Interdistrict Hospital has been detained as the suspect in the terrorist act that occurred in Pushkin. The individual was allegedly manipulated by telephone scammers into committing the crime.
According to reports, the paramedic was persuaded by fraudsters to take out a loan of 1.2 million rubles and transfer the money to an account they provided. The scammers then instructed the paramedic to create Molotov cocktails and proceed to a bank on Oktyabrsky Boulevard.
Wearing a balaclava, the young medic entered the bank and threw one of the Molotov cocktails, causing smoke and fire. The paramedic then shouted about a robbery but was apprehended by other people present and subsequently handed over to private security officers.
The incident resulted in soot forming on the tiled floor, but no other significant damage was reported. Investigative authorities have initiated a criminal case regarding the act of terrorism, and the suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
