St. Petersburg’s public transportation system will operate on a modified schedule due to the Russia Day celebrations. The Committee on Transport announced the changes, which will affect both ground transport and the metro.
On June 11, buses, trams, and trolleybuses will follow a Friday schedule. This adjustment prepares for the upcoming holiday and extended weekend.
From June 12 to June 15, ground transportation will operate on a Sunday schedule. This means reduced service and adjusted hours across the city’s bus, tram, and trolleybus lines.
The St. Petersburg Metro will run on a Saturday schedule on June 12. Following the holiday, from June 13 to June 15, the metro will switch to a Sunday schedule.
Passengers are strongly advised to plan their routes in advance. This will help to account for the altered schedules and potential delays during the holiday period.
The schedule changes coincide with a short work week in Russia. June 12 is an official holiday, and June 13 is a non-working day due to the transfer of the holiday from March 8. June 11 will be a shortened working day.
