St. Petersburg to Keep Summer Restaurant Terraces on Rubinstein Street Despite Nevsky Prospekt Ban

St. Petersburg authorities have confirmed that summer restaurant terraces will remain on Rubinstein Street and other major city roads, despite their removal from Nevsky Prospekt. This decision was announced by Vice Governor Kirill Polyakov in a recent interview.

Polyakov stated that there are “no such plans” to extend the ban beyond Nevsky Prospekt.

The removal of terraces from Nevsky Prospekt, however, has been viewed as a success by the city. Polyakov noted that the clearance has created more space for pedestrians and improved the visibility of buildings’ architecture.

The removal of summer verandas on Nevsky Prospekt aimed to create more room for pedestrians, particularly with increased foot traffic expected during the roadway repairs.
