St. Petersburg Ring Road Traffic to Halt Briefly in Kronstadt for Construction

Traffic on the St. Petersburg Ring Road in Kronstadt will be temporarily suspended overnight from July 31st to August 1st. The closure is scheduled to last for one hour.

Specifically, the outer ring road at the 126th kilometer of the Ring Road, at the interchange with the Kronstadt Highway, will be completely blocked from 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM on August 1st. The St. Petersburg Flood Prevention Facility Directorate announced these plans on July 31st.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the construction of new overpasses as part of the interchange reconstruction project.

During the shutdown, temporary barriers will be in place on the outer ring road, and a traffic controller will be present to manage the situation.

Emergency vehicles will be granted unimpeded access throughout the closure.

In the event of a significant buildup of other vehicles, short intervals will be implemented to allow them to pass through the area.

Authorities have stated that if the construction work is completed ahead of schedule, traffic will be reopened earlier than the originally planned time.
