St. Petersburg authorities have initiated preparations for a major road complex, including the Arsenalny Bridge, the M-7 highway, and the Shirotnaya Magistral (Latitudinal Expressway), along with their intersection. The Smolny, St. Petersburg’s city administration, issued the assignment based on an application from ZSD JSC.
The project, officially detailed in an order from the Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture (KGA) published on July 2, encompasses a highway featuring a bridge over the Neva River, aligned with Arsenalnaya Street and stretching from Smolnaya Embankment to the Ring Road (KAD). It also includes roads connecting this highway to both the Shirotnaya Magistral and Olginskaya Road, complete with interchanges.
Currently, land planning documentation (PPT) is under development for the specific 6th stage, focusing on the area from Piskarevsky Prospekt to the Shirotnaya Magistral, incorporating approaches, Bokskogorskaya Street, and Ekaterininsky Prospekt.
The planned M-7 highway will connect with the Arsenalny Bridge and the Shirotnaya Magistral, creating a unified transportation ring along with Bokskogorskaya Street. The construction of stages II-IV of the Shirotnaya Magistral is slated to begin this summer, while the design phase for the M-7 is still pending.
