St. Petersburg authorities have reported that parking inspectors have stopped over 8,000 attempts to evade parking fees since the start of 2025. The St. Petersburg City Parking Management Center’s inspectors have been actively working to enforce parking regulations in the city.
The city’s transportation committee press service announced on June 17 that inspectors recorded 8,378 instances of concealed license plates in the historical center of St. Petersburg in recent months.
In addition to concealed license plates, inspectors discovered 646 vehicles illegally parked in designated disabled parking spaces. Information regarding these violations has been forwarded to the traffic police for further action.
The Parking Management Center also emphasizes preventative measures; inspectors have held over 3,000 conversations with motorists, educating them on parking rules and regulations. During the first quarter of the year, the number of parking fee evasion attempts was just over 5,000. Inspectors also noted instances of vandalism, including damage to road signs.
